As many of you know, I love me some YouTube. Though I am not a BookTuber and don’t post videos on my YouTube, I will be participating in the BookTubeAThon 2015! If you have no idea what this is, check out:
They recently announced the hosts and challenges for this year’s BookTubeAThon, which will be held August 3rd-9th. The challenges include 7 book-related tasks (that can be combined) to set up your to-read list. There will also be daily video challenges for those who do the YouTube thang and want to post videos. But of course, you can participate in any way you want and do as many or as few challenges as you like. The point is just to try and read as much as you can in one week! I myself am not confident I will be able to do all the challenges in one week, especially since I’m starting to work on stuff for the start of school, but I will try! I will also be live-Tweeting the experience and will probably be participating in some reading sprints and Instagram challenges via the BookTubeAThon Twitter and Instagram. Here are the 2015 challenges:
- Read a book with blue on the cover
- Read a book by an author who shares the same first letter of your last name
- Read someone else’s favorite book
- Read the last book you acquired
- Finish a book without letting go of it
- Read a book you really want to read
- Read seven books
I have set up my TBR list accordingly. It is as follows:
- The Rights of the Reader by Daniel Pennac (potential challenge 5)
- The Middle Stories by Sheila Heti (challenge 1, potential challenge 5)
- The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster (challenge 1 and 3)
- Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell (challenge 1 and 6)
- Paper: An Elegy by Ian Sansom (challenge 2 and 4)
- Child of God by Lolita Files (challenge 1 and 3)
- Duran Duran: The First Four Years by Neil Gaiman (challenge 1 and 7)
Let me know if you are also participating in the BookTubeAThon and what you plan to read! Good luck!
