I am at my parents’ for the weekend and so I went to Half Price Books today to get rid of some books and naturally came out with some as well. I managed to weed out 16 books from my library. I came back with 4, and for some reason, they are all blue! This was not planned, although I think there is some part of my subconscious that tells me to buy all the same color because this also happened once before. I picked up a 99-cent tote as well (not blue) because I couldn’t resist it:
The haul:
Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld
All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders
Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life by Amy Krouse Rosenthal
Bedtime Stories by various authors – a collection of classic short stories that blend fantasy and reality (i.e. “Young Goodman Brown,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” etc.)
I am quite excited about all of these. Additionally, my dad found a signed copy of The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart at a thrift store and gave it to me:
As we were driving back to my parents’ house today, it began to snow, so my dad made a fire in the fireplace. Needless to say, I know what I’ll be doing the rest of the day! (Lesson: it pays to visit your parents). Happy Valentine’s Day!
