Book Fangirling Blog Award

blogawardbutton

Yay! I saw this tag going around and thought it was so cute! Thanks to Jane @ the Greenish Bookshelf and Zezee @ Zezee with Books for tagging me!

The rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Answer the questions they set for you.
  • Set some new questions and nominate five more bloggers.

Jane’s questions:

What is your favorite book series you have read recently?

Probably The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss, a fantasy trilogy (still waiting on book 3…). It’s got everything you want in a good fantasy, and I can’t wait for the final installment!

Favorite children’s book and why?

Oh man, this one is tough. There are too many! I guess I’ll say Where the Wild Things Are. It’s such a great fantastical escape story, and it has one of the best last lines of a book ever.

Bookstore or library?

I hate this question because I love both. I’ll say library – there’s no pressure to spend money and you can stay as long as you like without feeling judged. Though I adore bookstores as well (sorry, bookstores!).

Which is better: book or movie adaptation? Why?

Book. So much more detail and complexity (usually – not saying that films don’t have detail and complexity, but there is no time limit for books).

If you could live in a book, which would you live in?

Definitely The Lord of the Rings series. What a classic fantasy world to explore!

Which book do you find yourself recommending most frequently?

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society because it’s a book for book lovers! It is an absolute joy, and I have not met anyone who has read it who did not love it.

Favorite type of M&M. This is a serious one.

Peanut. No questions asked.

Zezee’s questions:

The top question: What are your top 3 favorite fandoms?

Harry Potter, Disney, and Sherlock.

Do you go all out for the fandoms you’re interested in? If so, share some pictures of your merchandise.

Yes. Very yes. Behold:

Here’s the HP section of my apartment; I have more, but this is what space allowed.

Yes, I hopped on the FunkPop bandwagon. Columbia (Rocky Horror Picture Show), the 11th Doctor (Doctor Who), mini Elsa, Ana, and Olaf (Frozen), Joy & Sadness (Inside Out), “Steamboat Willie” Mickey, Wash (Firefly), Baby Groot (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Wall-e & Eve (Wall-e)

If you could hang out with your favorite character for a day, do you think you would get along with them?

Hmm…who is my favorite character? Such a tough one! Since I don’t exactly have one favorite, I will choose to hang out with Luna Lovegood. We would get along swimmingly.

Is there anything you would change about the fandoms you’re interested in?

Less fandom elitists who play the I’m-more-knowledgeable-and-therefore-cooler game. In all fandoms ever.

What character from your favorite fandom do you wish to know more about?

Sirius Black (slash all the Marauders, which is probably the top HP fandom answer out there, but come on, who doesn’t want a Marauders spin-off??).

My questions:

What was the first fandom you got into?

Are there any fandoms you have been wanting to get into but haven’t for some reason?

What would be your dream cross-fandom couple? (Your cross-fandom OTP, if you will)

Do you ship any non-canon couples? (do you have any couples in books or movies you want to be together but never actually got together in the story?)

What’s your favorite piece of fandom swag you own? (Bonus points for a pic!)

I tag:

Larkin @ Wonderfilled Reads

Melissa @ Melissa Discovers the Secrets of Reading

Jorelene @ The Page Chronicles

Reg @ She Latitude

Victoria @ Addlepates and Book Nerds

Sorry if you’ve already done it – anyone else, feel free to join in!

  1. I LOVE peanut M&Ms! And then I discovered mint ones and love them too, so now I’m a bit torn between the two, haha. I’m also more of a library person than a bookstore person, though I do peruse books pretty much wherever I can with no regard to anything else… oops. 😛

And oh gosh, mini Olaf! So cute. ❤

    Thanks for the tag!
