Me in 5 Characters Tag

Thank you to The Ravenclaw Book Club for tagging me to do the “Me in 5 Characters Tag!” As the title would suggest, this tag requires you to describe yourself by using 5 book characters. So, here’s me:

  1. Hermione Granger: This one is probably obvious, but my first pick is Hermione Granger from J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Not only am I bookish and a bit of a perfectionist, but I also value learning and knowledge above just about everything else…except friends and family and doing what’s right. Which brings me to my next pick…hermionegrangerjimkay1
  2. Scout Finch: I identify with Jean Louise Finch from Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird because of the rosy-eyed nostalgia she has for her childhood. I am a very sentimental person, and I think she is a very sentimental narrator. Family and friends are what she holds most dear, and her relationship with her older brother reminds me of mine growing up and wanting to be just like him. Also, she’s a spunky kid, and I’d like to think I’m a spunky kid. Which bring me to my next pick…5815169
  3. Peter Pan: Ok, so I haven’t read the actual book by J.M. Barrie (which is a crazy considering how much I love the Peter Pan story – I must read it ASAP). Peter obviously has the whole I-never-want-to-grow-up complex going on, and so much so that he can be frustrating and distant and stubborn and not quite understanding at times. He’s a dreamer who clings to innocence and adventure. Also he gets to swashbuckle. I want to swashbuckle.peterpanbook3
  4. Tiny Cooper: I am neither a boy, nor gay, nor huge, nor a football player; however, I chose Tiny Cooper from Will Grayson, Will Grayson by David Levithan and John Green (and now Hold Me Closer by David Levithan!) because of his enthusiasm and love of musical theater. He has an unstoppable amount of passion and excitement, he is goofy and hilarious and sassy, and he has the balls to write a whole musical about himself and perform it in front of the entire school. I’d like to think there’s a little bit of that in me.61ay7rj6qzl-_sy344_bo1204203200_
  5. Cath: All of the other characters listed above are independent and fierce, but there is a large part of me that just likes to close my door and chill with only myself and/or the internet and/or a Harry Potter book. So that’s why my last choice is Cath from Fangirl by Rainow Rowell. Socially awkward and a writer, she often enjoys the company of books and computers more than humans. Mixed with the other characters above, it paints a pretty good picture of who I am.photo

  1. Absolutely adore this! what a brilliant collection of characters- I’m with you on the peter pan syndrome for sure! And I definitely have bits of Hermione in me- not as much as I used to, but I still identify with her quite a bit 🙂
