Book hauls

6 Used 7 New Haul

It’s time for a haul! I have stocked up on books lately thanks to 2 sales in town: one at the public library (at which you stack your books and they charge you by the inch – adorable, right?), and then a special Scholastic book fair for teachers and librarians where everything was super cheap. I ultimately got 6 used books at the former sale and 7 new at the latter, hence the title of the haul as a reference to the 90’s movie “6 Days 7 Nights” with Harrison Ford and Anne Heche. Anyone? 2 people stranded on an island? Who fall in love? For 6 days and 7 nights? And it’s adorable and cheesy? No? Go watch it.

  1. Nice haul! I really want to read The Martian too. And I loved Cinder (and the whole Lunar Chronicles series) – hope you enjoy them as much as I did! Also, I HAVE SEEN THAT MOVIE! I had completely forgotten what it was called/that it existed, I must have watched it over a decade ago! May have to have a nostalgic rewatch 🙂

      1. It’s weird actually because I was just thinking about this movie the other day. It just popped into my head, and I couldn’t remember anything other than the premise – not even who had acted in it. I was thinking maybe I’d imagined it haha!

  2. Hope you enjoy The Martian! I liked it but it was sometimes really scientific, the explanations just went straight past my head, haha.

And The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend looks SO interesting from the cover! I gather it’s a children’s book – those are special in their own way. Great haul, thanks for sharing. 🙂

  3. Oh, you bought a new copy of Dune? I have always wanted to read that series! I’d love to read your thoughts on it.

I really should see if my library has any sales soon. I am so focused on bookstore that I forget how great libraries are.

You’ve got great taste in books. 🙂 I hope you enjoy The Martian.

    1. Haha thank you! Yeah Dune is definitely one of those classics I haven’t got around to, maybe I will soon now that I actually own it (though that hasn’t worked yet for the many unread books I own lol)
