Thank you to Zezee @ Zezee with Books and Carrianne @ Carrianne’s Cuppa & Critiques for tagging me in this! They are awesome! I really like this one, but here is a disclaimer: I don’t have organized TBRs like most people do every month or year or whatever. I hate planning out what I read in advance because I read according to my whims and moods, which are changeable. I literally just gave a gigantic Goodreads “to-read” list with like 300-some books and counting that serves as a life-long TBR. I don’t have an actual physical “pile” (or shelf) either. So keep that in mind while you read my answers.
What book have you been unable to finish?
The Story of Stuff: The Impact of Overconsumption on the Planet, Our Communities, and Our Health-And How We Can Make It Better by Annie Leonard. I started this like 4 years ago and never finished because college. And then I just kinda forgot about it. Bookmark is still in it.
What book have you yet to read because you just haven’t had the time?
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. This book is going to take a lot of time and concentration to read because it is extremely complex.

What book have you yet to read because it’s a sequel?
The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson. I own an ARC of the second book of the Shades of London series, randomly. I haven’t even read the first one…
What book have you yet to read because it’s brand new?
Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke. I want to read this book, but I do not own it. It came out in March.
What book have you yet to read because you read a book by the same author and didn’t enjoy it?
Moby Dick by Herman Melville. This one could honestly fall under several of these questions, but I HATED Melville’s Benito Cereno, so I’m dragging my feet on Moby Dick. It’ll happen some day.
What book have you yet to read because you’re just not in the mood for it?
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. I’m just never in the mood, but I feel like I need to read it.
What book have you yet to read because it’s humongous?
Le Morte D’Arthur by Sir Thomas Mallory. I own a goliath copy published by Barnes & Noble a while back. Though this is not a book you read through in one go – I’m debating making this a summer Twitter project some time in which I do 1 tweet per chapter summarizing/commentating on the story…
What book have you yet to read because it was a cover buy that turned out to have poor reviews?
Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. In general I don’t think this book got poor reviews, but my college roommate really didn’t like it, and I trust her judgement, so I haven’t read it yet. Still on my TBR though.
What is the most intimidating book in your TBR pile?
Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. No explanation necessary.
Ahh I’m the same- I just have a whopping tbr on my goodreads and an amazon wishlist (which is basically the same) great post!

It literally didn’t occur to me until I read your intro that the reason why I had so much trouble with this tag was because I don’t plan out what I’m reading either. lol I even wrote this whole post about how having a TBR each month contributed to my reading slump. I do the same thing on Goodreads and just add a book whenever it sounds good.

Haha, right!? Too constricted.

Very! It also didn’t help that I’d put like 15 books on a TBR for the month and then felt like I had to read all of them.

The Da Vinci Code is actually pretty interesting. Boring characters but good story! 😀

Nice tag I should do it 🙂

I was assigned Billy Budd in college. I’m not even sure if I finished it. There were so many penis euphemisms…
House of Leaves was pretty good. I read that one in grad school. You just need to remember that there are a couple of stories going on and that the book is metafiction.

I also don’t plan my TBR, I usually just read whatever I feel like reading! Thought I was the only one without a set list of books to read !

Definitely not alone! 🙂

You’re welcome and I’m glad you did the tag! I usually don’t have organized TBRs either. I use my Goodreads to-read list too which is too long because any book that catches my attention, no matter how small, is placed on that list, if it’s in the Goodreads database. I only make TBR lists when I do things like Top Ten Tuesday posts.
A summer Twitter project sounds cool and I might do something similar to get myself tweeting. I don’t tweet much and sometimes I forget about Twitter.
