the-sunshine-blogger-award

A huge thank-you to Kayla @ Kdrewkthebookworm for this award! Sorry I’m doing this so late, but SURPRISE, here it is! People, check our her blog, yo! Her questions are awesome, so I’m excited!

Rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Answer the 11 questions set by the person who nominated you.
  3. Nominate 11 bloggers to receive the award (or however many)
  4. Give them 11 new questions (if you want to)
  5. Display the award on your blog (if you want to)

Questions:

What are you doing this summer? (Or if your region is not in summertime, what did you do last summer/plan on doing next summer?)

I moved home, took my first 2 grad school classes, started a new job at a library, watched lots of Olympics, and went on a small weekend trip to Wisconsin. It was quite the busy summer! Oh, and I did some reading and blogging 😉

How many physical books do you own?

I’ve got 626 cataloged, but I haven’t done most of my children’s books, and I’m sure I’ve got at least 100. Plus the stack of others waiting to be cataloged…we’ll call it 750 roughly.

Under what circumstances would you DNF a book?

Only if it’s exceptionally poor writing (*cough* Fifty Shades of Grey *cough*), I get bored (some of the non-fic I’ve attempted), or it’s too confusing (which only ever happened once).

What was the last movie you saw in theatres? Did you enjoy it?

The new Ghostbusters, and YES!

Do you play video games? If so, what console do you have?

I used to, but not anymore. I was big on the PS2…a HUGE Kingdom Hearts fan. I also played a ton of the original Sims on PC. Good times. One day when I have more disposable income, I want to get back into a bit of gaming (Kingdom Hearts 3!!!).

What are your favourite and least favourite things about blogging?

Favorite: I just love writing blogs, man. Least favorite: not having enough time to write blogs, man.

Tell me a teaser sentence from the book you’re currently reading!

The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman (reading it for grad school): “Machines are not intelligent enough to determine the meaning of our actions, but even so, they are far less intelligent than they could be.” I know it sounds real exciting, but this book is actually really good.

What device do you use to write your blog posts (computer, phone, etc.)?

Laptop.

Tell me a little known fact about you that no other bloggers know.

I used to figure skate when I was a kid and I’ve recently been getting back into skating (just for exercise, not for actual lessons).

If you could travel anywhere in the world right this instant, where would you go, and why?

Paris! I’ve always wanted to go to Paris.

What song is stuck in your head right now? (if any)

“Lost Boy” by Ruth B. Love that song so much.

My questions:

Because I thought these questions were exceptionally good, I’m just going to ask you the same ones!

  1. Wow, you own 750 physical books! That’s impressive. I’ve never counted mine but I’m pretty sure I have nowhere near that many (had to pack them all into boxes when I moved countries and I’m sure I’d have had more boxes if there were that many!).
